Introducing the injection molded WeatherTech BumpStep and yes, it is proudly made in America! It is the best step-bumper protector available.

The BumpStep is injection molded out of a proprietary resin that is incredibly strong, yet has mechanical properties that allow it to flex when hit, taking the brunt of any impact. It designed to fit any vehicle with a standard 2" receiver hitch. The BumpStep measures 12" (30.48cm) wide and the XL 24" (60.9cm) wide.

Why get a BumpStep

Well, it’s simple, protection against bumps, dents and scratches to your vehicle’s bumper. Careless drivers can bump, knock and crash without care into your back bumper. With the BumpStep, you will have the reassurance of bumper protection from other motorist’s mistakes and small accidents from backing up. As a vehicle owner that takes pride in your investment, scratches and dents to your bumper are as much of an eyesore as a ding to your door and BumpStep helps prevent having to get your bumper repaired. As the "step" portion of its name describes, BumpStep also allows you to safely stand on the 12" (30.48cm) wide step (up to a 300lb or 136kg max) for everyday tasks such as loading a roof rack, racking a bike or kayak or washing the upper area of your vehicle.

WeatherTech Direct, LLC warrants that its products will be free from any defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser and only for the original vehicle they were installed in. That does not mean that a product that simply and naturally wears out from normal use is a candidate for a warranty replacement or a refund. Like tires, brake pads or the shoes on your feet, everything wears out and when it does, that does not mean you did not receive good value for your money.

We are reasonable people and we believe in true customer satisfaction. We will work with you for a fair resolution to any issue you may have. Fair is defined as being fair to both you the customer and to WeatherTech. We do not charge extra for our products to our vast majority of customers so we can accommodate ridiculous warranty claims by the few. Our decision is final and will consist of either replacement of your product at no charge or charge you a prorated amount for a replacement, meaning we may extend a discount to you to purchase an exact replacement. Our goal is to keep our customers happy for a lifetime and always reach a fair resolution to any issue. Proof of purchase is required.

Exclusions to this warranty include wear due to severe abrasive conditions, chemical contamination, such as spilled gasoline, bleach, vehicle accidents, misuse, abuse, incorrect installation, incorrect use, etc.

    Do you make a BumpStep for a 1-1/4” receiver?

    No. At this time, we only offer the BumpStep for a 2" receiver. We do not recommend using a BumpStep with a 1-1/4" receiver and adaptor.

If you liked our original BumpStep, but wanted one that covered more surface area, you are in luck. WeatherTech introduces the BumpStepXL designed to provide more bumper protection and still function as a strong and sturdy step. The BumpStepXL is twice as wide as a regular BumpStep measuring 24 inches wide and 3.5 inches tall. It’s designed to fit any vehicle with a standard 2" receiver hitch.

The BumpStepXL is created with a special two-step process, and is molded out of two proprietary resins for added strength and impact resistance. The base is a very strong material that resists flexing, while the second is a softer, impact absorbing material. These are molded in our manufacturing facility located in Bolingbrook, IL.
